What a construction estimate costs
Our fee for an estimate starts at $200, ex GST. A granny flat, renovation, extension or shed is $200 to $400, and every trade on a $2.5M house was $2,000. You see the fixed fee before an estimator opens your plans.

How we work out the fee
An estimator hour is $18 to $27, ex GST. That hour is a person measuring your drawings and pricing what they measure. We allow about 0.25 of an hour for each square metre of floor area, add the hours up, and that is the fixed fee you get back.
A 100 m² house is about 25 hours. At $18 to $27 an hour, that is $450 to $675, ex GST.

What an estimator on staff costs
An estimator on staff in Australia costs $30 to $45 an hour, before super. Ours are $18 to $27 an hour, and there is nobody to hire.
